LENGTH CHECK #1

Hey, y’all! I am going to start keeping track of my hair growth quarterly to keep y’all updated with my hair progress. So welcome to the first length check for the blog in the last quarter of 2016 (Can you believe the end of the year is almost here?! Yikes!)!

As stated in my hair journey post, I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my 5-year natural hair journey. Glad to see that I’ve made some progress over this last year. For me, my goal for my hair is to maintain healthy hair. I don’t want long hair that’s not healthy. So if that means I need to cut off 2 inches of my hair, that’s what’s going to happen. Why? Because at the end of the day, it’s just hair and it will grow back.

Below you will see side-by-side comparisons for 2 blowouts from this year. I used the tension method with my blow dryer. The tension method is when you pull your hair at the ends and blow dry it instead of using a comb. As such my hair isn’t as straight as it could be.

I didn’t realize until I looked at these photos that I had some growth! Below you will how long my hair is next to my tape measure from different areas of my hair.

10 inches in the front
8 inches in the back

10 inches in the front 8 inches in the back

I’m happy with the current progress that my hair is making and excited where it will be next year around this time.

What’s your goal for your hair journey?

As always, thanks for stopping by!
